500 Litre Planning Requirement Options

Some District Councils are now imposing a planning requirement on extensions and new houses to provide at least 500 litres of rainwater storage.  Here are a number of options on fulfilling that requirement:

Option 1 - The most cost effective solution:
Pound for pound our 250 litre Space Saver water butts are the most cost effective for the volume they wll contain.  You can link two together or run them off separate downpipes (order two diverters and delete the link kit).

Option 3 - An attractive solution in the right setting:
If the water butt(s) is to be visible you may want something a little more aesthetic.  How about a large 'Roman Column' fixed back to the wall?  This water butt is available in cream or green.

Option 2 - The most flexible solution:
5 separate 100 litre butts can all be joined together or can be placed at a number of downpipes from the roof.  If not linking all the butts together you will need to adjust the number of link kits and diverters.

Option 4 - The most practical single solution:
